Vendor Conference on New India Telecom Regulation
As a response to a security threat that led to an amended Indian Telecom regulation, Altal Security held an informational conference to prepare Israeli vendors on the new security requirements. Effective August 2010, all foreign vendors and operators must comply with an auditing procedure on all core network equipment as a precondition to contract with Indian Telecom Service Providers. In participation with Indian representatives, Altal Security's information security experts briefed thirty Israeli companies active in the Indian market on how to fulfill these requirements. Nati Davidi, Adv, CEO of Altal Security, presented a thorough analysis of the telecom equipment certification; Dr. Kozlovski, Altal Security Board Chairman and internet law expert continued the conversation with a presentation on whom the regulations target and how it applies to them. Panel discussions on technical Aspects and Trends in Data Security were led by Dr. Nimrod Kozlovski, Altal Chairman and internet law expert, Colonel (Res.) Daniel Rossene, former Director General of the Israel Ministry of Communications, Colonel (Res.) Yariv Gafni, CEO of WizArt Systems, and Dr. Elad Barkan, international mobile cryptology expert. The Honorable Mr. Sanjay Vyas, Second Secretary, Embassy of India, presented the Indian perspective. The conference closed with the welcoming of a delegation of Indian Telecom Service Providers on an official visit in Israel.
